Mental Health

This week I wanna take a moment to acknowledge people who have bipolar disorder1. Bipolar disorder has huge effects on the deccision we make. I say we because I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. This has had a fairly major effect on my life. But I'd rather educate then talk about my own trials and tributes. Bipolar is usually found in the teenage years of a persons life. Bipolar doesn't really show its effects until the teenage years. Most people with bipolar disorder use meds to help regulate their mood swings. Though not all medications work for the same people some meds are able to greatly help reduce manic episodes.

  1. A disorder associated with episodes of mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs. The exact cause of bipolar disorder isn’t known, but a combination of genetics, environment, and altered brain structure and chemistry may play a role. Manic episodes may include symptoms such as high energy, reduced need for sleep, and loss of touch with reality. Depressive episodes may include symptoms such as low energy, low motivation, and loss of interest in daily activities. Mood episodes last days to months at a time and may also be associated with suicidal thoughts. Treatment is usually lifelong and often involves a combination of medications and psychotherapy.
